The new F90 model offers better performance, lighter weight, and enhanced fuel efficiency compared to the previous 1.5 liter model. The new F90 gives the ideal power alternative for the high number of Australian-built boats that have a maximum hull rating of 90 horsepower, filling a significant gap in Yamaha’s class-leading mid-range line-up. The four-cylinder, 16-valve, SOHC 1.8L marine engine is not only 10KG lighter than the 1.5L engine of the previous generation, but it also has a wider torque range thanks to the larger displacement.

The use of a single overhead camshaft valve-train, which only produces smooth and efficient performance in 16-valve, four-cylinder engines this size, allowed for a weight reduction and enhanced compactness. The enhanced engine unit stiffness, redesigned muffler, and installation of an intake silencer in the new F90 result in a 10% increase in fuel efficiency and a considerable reduction in noise. The NMEA2000 connectivity of the Yamaha F90 enables simple integration with third-party multi-function displays, GPS, and fish finders. The Yamaha F90 is compatible with the full line of Command-Link gauges manufactured by Yamaha.
